You just need to get sort of strung out on just you know rock and roll in your face blasting um a real kind of frenzied uh you know just pulsating but yeah pulsating i’ll say it’s pulsating it was just nonstop it was as though they were all on amphetamines right that’s the effect when you’re on amphetamines you’re basically like wyatt you know you can’t just stop
You gotta keep going go go go go it’s your time folks hey everyone and welcome to another episode of into the music my name is craig and i’ve got a song request from bob it’s been actually a while since i’ve done a song for bob um i think bob’s pretty busy in his life and bob i hope you’re doing well um and i hope that i’ll bring happiness and joy to your
Life with an amazing song reaction i hope so but that’s only if the song you gave me is amazing so we’ll see uh amphetamine that’s the name of the song it’s a live performance by the band steve nguyen and the miracle three so steve wynn it’s not the steve wynn who um who ran a casino in atlantic city or las vegas or whatever um atlantic city and the guy who’s
Dead so right he’s dead right didn’t he die that’s that’s steve wynn anyway i’m sure just being silly i’m sure it’s not that steve win uh and the miracle three yeah never heard of them uh yeah so looking forward to it because bob you never steer me wrong you know you never do you know some songs are good some songs are great uh rarely ever bets on so here we go
The bar’s raised so here we go amphetamine i love that so on the seventh hour of the you got one chance baby baby baby better do it right well i was driving down on the 101 well it was late at night and i was thinking about the things i’ve all of my regrets everything about this performance is so good they’re rocking the out of this this is great
I let go of the wheel and my fluid foreign i love it godless soul the idea that he will die before he’s old yeah you gotta be cool yeah you gotta behave man there be time for that when i’m lying in my dream you gotta watch yourself but if i fear for the devil and i fear for myself y’all i’m gonna have to fear for everybody else i wonder why
I yes hello hey dude wow thank you all very much that’s awesome 2011. okay cool wow yeah i gotta write that down before i forget that was fun that was fun that was a blast all right on the other side bob you have to go to this right every time you need that rock and roll fix you know you just need to get sort of strung out on just you know rock
And roll in your face blasting um a real kind of frenzied uh you know just pulsating but yeah pulsating i’ll say it’s pulsating it was just nonstop it was as though they were all on amphetamines right that’s the effect when you’re on amphetamines you’re basically like wyatt you know you can’t just stop you gotta keep going go go go go not that i would know and
That’s how they were in that performance they were just they were just going um they didn’t want to stop and it’s a three chord song so there’s nothing like you know earth shattering oh my god that’s so innovative it’s just three songs but it was the emotion and it was the it was really like the it was the sweat that they were all putting in every single uh
Musician on that stage um uh she was drumming her her um her butt off um the two guitarists were great i loved it like you know when they were sort of interacting with each other like that that was great um the guitarist who was not singing uh he decided to throw in hey jude that was really cool um i think it actually made the singer steve wynn smile on that one
He’s like oh wow you know did you just throw that out like just pull that out of your out of your musical ass out of nowhere um and the bass the bass um he may have been the winner winner chicken dinner he really the base was so he just had this kind of cool base look that was just it was like riding up and down and it was just repetitive but it was so good
It was just helping to drive along with the drummer just really helped to drive the rhythm of the song as those two guys were just sort of playing up each other with the with the guitars um and again it was just really the really the raw emotion you know and the sweat you know that was just going into their playing um yeah i got to get into the lyrics um they
Sounded interesting and what’s really interesting is that i don’t i can’t find really much about this band it seems like steve nguyen has his own solo career and um he’s part of uh some band called dream something the dream syndicate i was gonna say dream theater but no uh dream syndicate yeah so i’ll get into a couple of minutes maybe one minute um but anything
Else to say yeah i mean the guy who is not singing who’s playing guitar his rock and roll face was priceless you know as he’s really going off maybe that’s why steve was like smiling and laughing he’s like holy you know this guy is absolutely the rock and roll star right now his just his face is like you know you know like he bit into an onion or something um
Yeah a bad onion and um the background vocals were cool towards the end too and the whole band sort of came in and yeah like i said a three chord song man uh they didn’t disappoint i do wonder though uh if you gave me the original version audio if i would have uh enjoyed it as much um i’m thinking that i mean i think it’s still fast-paced song but i think this
Song definitely benefits from a live performance you know it adjusts it it’s just get your instruments out you know let’s just rock is off with three chords and there you go so i enjoyed this bob thank you let me just pull up a little information here um so it looks like uh steve nguyen uh he goes back a long way 60 he’s 62 years old um okay and he’s older
Than me and he led the dream syndicate from 81 to 89 they seem to be a big deal they reformed in 2012 and it looks like they turn right now um just went on his website so that’s interesting uh volkl’s qatar he’s been active since 1979. wow and he’s had like a so all these different kind of projects oh here we go well this is just discography um steve went into
Miracle 3 they put out four albums static transmission tick tick tick live tick and northern aggression there’s no links for me to click on and see what the songs are but i i saw something else where i said this song was written in 2003 so this might be on static transmission bob let me know if i’m wrong on that um he’s been involved he danny and dusty gutta
Ball smack dab australian blonde the baseball project it looks like that’s all these groups and these projects that he’s been involved with that’s amazing um they all these solo albums holy crap and then a lot of albums with the dream syndicate so there you go um what are they sort of tagging the kind of music alternative rock paisley underground what the hell
Is it’s a musical genre that originated california uh popular in 1980s um incorporated psychedelic psychedelia rich vocal harmonies and qatar interplay is there just somebody sitting out there in the world who just has nothing better to do and just come up with these genre names i want that job uh okay and i pulled up information actually about the song the
Lyrics on the seventh hour the seventh day the seventh son was looking for a seven stage getaway that’s really cool i don’t know what the hell he means by that but that’s cool the word came down from a blind and light you got one chance you better do it right oh like an angel like he was kind of met um by an angel i’ll go with that uh so but he’s looking
For a getaway the angel’s gonna help him on that i was driving down to 101 it was late at night and i was thinking about the things that i’d done all of my regrets and all of my fears i was slipping the car from gear to gear man i really got going started picking up speed i hit 135 and i had everything that i need started shaking bad feeling for my life i let go
Of the wheel and i flew into the night and this sounds like santa claus uh the night before christmas just the way i’m eating this god bless the child god bless his soul god perish the idea that he will die before he’s old got to be cool you got to behave man there’ll be time for that when i’m lying in my grave you got to watch your step or you’re going to lose
Your way take heed of your elders do everything they say and yeah i gotta watch out for the man who told the bells but if i fear for the devil and i fear for myself then i’m gonna have to fear for everybody else i think it’s word salad i think he was going on a certain mood certain feeling he was just kind of coming up with words that were kind of a cool way to
Describe this real kind of fast-paced energy that he was feeling at the time he wrote this song that’s it maybe he was on amphetamines he might have been on something else uh and he just had to put down words to describe it but in a real creative way and one that kind of camouflaged maybe why he was feeling that way that’s my guess bob what do you think and what
Do you know whatever you know let me know reveal uh this is cool bob thanks again this is so so much so this is really fun and i think that’s all the information yeah you take care bob and everyone else out there i really hope you like this hit the like button hit subscribe subscribe with us be pretty cool and we say us there’s john and andy so it’s the three of
